Badges have been a sign of being seen and visible in the LGBTQ+ community for many decades. In a time where it was illegal to be LGBTQ+, wearing a badge would have been a bold, brave statement.

Today, badges are still used as a way to celebrate and show LGBTQ+ identities to the wider world, where challenges are still faced. I’ve used badges with joyful emoji style symbols with colours taken from historic badges, celebrating LGBTQ+ people being seen in the present day.
